Rescuing animals is my passion. Giving abused, abandoned, and orphaned animals a chance for a better life is important to me. Educating people about the cruelty towards animals is necessary. Ending the horrid suffering caused by greedy puppy mill owners who treat animals like pieces of property needs major attention.
I want to stop dog and cock fighting and staged hunts for "entertainment." I find the clubbing of baby seals for their white coats unconscionable. I believe all creatures are important.
Adopting shelter dogs is a good thing. Over 90% of cute little puppies sold in pet stores come from puppy mills where the breeding dogs live in unsanitary, crowded wire cages with little or no medical care, with improper food and often no protection from the elements. Shelter dogs are rescued from these terrible places and given humane care.
As a volunteer for Hearts United for Animals (www.hua.org), I foster many dogs, caring for injuries to the body or spirit, giving them a little kindness and compassion. HUA seeks worthy adopters for each rescued dog. These adopters will feel better physically and emotionally by giving a home to an innocent animal that NEVER judges but only gives unconditional love.
Just petting a dog reduces stress and high blood pressure
The over 230 dogs, thus far, that I have helped to survive give me a sense of well being. My passion for rescuing animals allows me to make a difference--to give my life a meaningful purpose.
